Sesayap River Adventure
Upon arrival at Juwata Airport in Tarakan, meet and greet with our team, followed by a transfer to your hotel. Check in and relax before enjoying dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight in Tarakan.

After breakfast, transfer to the harbor and board a speedboat for the approximately three-hour journey to Malinau. Along the way, keep an eye out for wildlife around the Sesayap River Delta, where, with some luck, you may spot freshwater dolphins and proboscis monkeys.
Upon arrival in Malinau, continue the journey toward Desa Setulang. Depending on river conditions and water levels, the journey will continue by motorized canoe upstream along the Sesayap River or by road. Upon arrival in Setulang, enjoy a short village orientation and experience the local atmosphere before settling into a lodge or local homestay. Meals are provided en route. Overnight in Setulang.

After breakfast, begin exploring the traditional Dayak village and its surrounding rainforest. Trek through the tropical forest while looking for wildlife such as monkeys and a variety of bird species. Learn about the local environment and the traditional relationship between the Dayak community and the forest. Overnight at a local house.

Continue your rainforest exploration with another trek through the surrounding forest and hills. Keep watch for hornbills, kingfishers, monkeys, and other wildlife along the trails. From higher ground, enjoy beautiful views across the surrounding rainforest landscape.
In the afternoon, continue deeper into the forest and settle into a jungle camp, where you can experience the atmosphere of the rainforest after sunset. Overnight at jungle camp.

After breakfast, continue exploring the rainforest around Setulang. Follow forest trails through lush tropical vegetation and discover the biodiversity of this remote part of North Kalimantan.
Return to the village and spend time experiencing the traditional lifestyle and hospitality of the local Dayak community. Overnight at a local house.

After breakfast, begin the journey downstream by canoe or travel overland by car to Malinau, depending on river conditions. From Malinau, continue by boat toward Tarakan.
